Mera peak climbing is the beautiful peak climbing done in the Everest region. Mera peak climbing takes you to the lap of the Mera peak. Mera peak climbing is known as the tallest peak climbing in Nepal. During all trek, we stay at the lodge or the teahouse but in the Mera peak climbing, we will stay in the tents.
This trek starts from the Kathmandu with the short flight to the Lukla. This is an about 35-minute flight to Lukla. This flight can be postponed or canceled any times due to the bad weather and the climate so to do the trek in the Everest region you should include the extra days. The best season to visit the Mera peak is during the spring and autumn season. It provides the beautiful view of the Himalayan vista like Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga, and the Himalayan glacier Mera peak climbing Normally starts through the Dudhi Koshi valley experiencing the typical Sherpa villages and the Valley. Detail Itinerary
Day01: Arrival at Kathmandu to
Nepal! A Nepal Hiking Trek staff will meet you at the airport and transport you to your hotel with a BB Plan.
Day03: Fly to Lukla, trek to Paiya
Nepal! A Nepal Hiking Trek staff will meet you at the airport and transport you to your hotel with a BB Plan.
Day02: City tour
The tour includes the Kathmandu valley, Bhaktapur valley, Lalitpur and Patan valley, Pashupatinath temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath temple.
Early in the morning, After breakfast, we go to the domestic airport of the Kathmandu for a short flight to Lukla. We walk gradually for a few hours to reach Paiya. Overnight at lodge.
Day04: Trek to Pangkoma
After we gradually walk to the east side, leaving the way that takes you to Phaplu. We cross the different village, mountain peaks and walk through a trail that takes us to Pangkongma. Overnight at lodge.
Day05: Trek to Nigmsa
Walking through rhododendron, bamboo, and alpine forest, we reach to the Pangkoma-La pass. From here, we can see the gorgeous view of the Mera Peak for. We trek down to the valley and enjoy views of snowy peaks. Crossing the River, we walk for a few hours and reach Nigmsa. Overnight at lodge.
Day06: Trek to Chetrakhola
Walking gradually, we cross a stream and continue through a hemlock and juniper forest along a rocky trail. We reach to the Chetrakhola Overnight at a lodge.
Day07: Trek to Kothe
We walk above the Hindu valley and climb down a steep trail. Then we walk through rhododendron, forest. We reach the Kothe, a tiny Sherpa village. Overnight at lodge.
Day08: Trek to Tangnang
The main Mera peak climbing trail goes through an open meadow, surrounded by a juniper forest. We move towards the deep valley enjoying the panoramas of the western face of Mera and Kusum Kanguru. Gradually, we reach Tangnang. Overnight at lodge.
Day09: Rest Day at Tangnang
At this elevation, we require a rest and acclimatization day. To stay active, we walk to the top of a ridge with an altitude of 5,000 meters where we get great views of Mera, Chamlang and Kusum Kanguru peaks. Overnight at lodge.
Day10: Trek to Khare
We have a short walking day, slowly walking to Dig Kharka and reach to the Khare.
Day11: Trek to Mera Peak Base Camp
We walk over the glacier to Mera Peak Base Camp, where we have time to do some practice climbing and familiarize ourselves with our equipment. Camping.
Day12: Trek to High Camp
Now the trek becomes challenging. We walk from 5,200 to 5,800 meters, where we set high camp. We can have a great chance to see the beauty and the gorgeous view of Mount Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Everest, Cho Oyu, and Makalu peaks.
Day13: Summit Mera Peak, back to Khare
The long and most awaited day of the trip! We get up early in the chilling cold and follow a guided-rope fixed route. The altitude crosses 6,000 meters, so we walk slowly in the thin air. Most of the trail is at a moderate grade, but as we get close to the top, it gets more step. At the top, we can enjoy the sun rising view over the gorgeous mountain like Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Everest, and Cho Oyu peaks. Following a roped way, we return back to Khare. Camping.
Day14: Trek to Kothe
We continue our descent, much faster than the climbing time, and notice the returning levels of oxygen in the air. Overnight at lodge.
Day15: Trek to Thuli Kharka
We trek down through dense Juniper woods on a rocky path. Overnight at lodge.
Day16: Trek to Lukla
We enjoy our last walking day and ultimately approach Lukla, where we can enjoy a hot shower and a good meal. Overnight at lodge.
Day17: Fly back to Kathmandu
Early in the morning, we will go to Lukla airport to fly back to Kathmandu. From Kathmandu airport, we will transfer you to your hotel.
Day18: Rest day
Enjoy a full day in Kathmandu, whether it’s shopping in Thamel, visiting historical sites or hanging with the friend. Nepal hiking team will also host the dinner for the celebrate successful your adventure
Day 19: Departure
After a beautiful experience, we take you to the airport for your flight home. Thank you for your journey with us! Have a safe journey.
